Unlike most retreats where you practice, eat and spend most of your time in one hotel, our retreat is a perfect blend of yoga immersion and eco tourism. The itinerary is mindfully designed to allow you to go out there to explore and connect with the host environment and culture, and experience what magical Tulum has to offer.
You may choose to participate in as many excursions and organized activities as you want, or spend your days with plenty of downtime relaxing on your private terrace, by the pool or on the beach.
MEET YOUR HOSTS & YOGA TEACHERS
Mary Chan
I am Mary, a certified yoga teacher from Jivamukti and Sivananda who have practiced and taught in New York for over 25 years. From teaching vinyasa to pre-natal, teenagers to seniors, I am grateful to have drawn my inspiration from numerous beloved teachers and students.
Being a mother and wife, I have also developed an intense interest in cooking and nutrition. In 2013 I enrolled at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and became certified as a health and nutrition coach. To further my quest for a holistic lifestyle and sustainable yoga approach, I completed the Three’s Physiyoga Advanced Teacher Training in 2019.
So why Tulum? Since my first trip to Tulum in 2009, I have been in love. After 3 yoga retreats, owning our condo in Tulum, getting to know the local people and spending time there during the pandemic, I consider Tulum my second home! I can’t wait to partner up with Phil this time and share Tulum’s magic and beauty with you!
Phil Schuster
I am a former executive in the Music business. I started practicing Yoga 18 years ago to rehab a back injury. I found my first teacher, Dana Perry and her profound influence led me to a devoted Yoga practice. I had practiced with incredible teachers over the years at numerous schools and studios in NYC including Jivamukti, OM Yoga, & Sivananda, before finding my home at ISHTA Yoga.
After completing my 200 Hour RYT certification at ISHTA in 2016, I went straight into the ISHTA advanced 300 Hour teacher training program studying under ISHTA Yoga founders Alan Finger & Sarah Platt-Finger. I am currently teaching for ISHTA Yoga, Chelsea Piers, Weill Cornell Medical Center, Manhattan Athletic Club and leading private sessions in NYC. As an E-RYT500 Hour teacher, I am certified in Asana, Pranayama, Restorative Yoga and Meditation.
Mary and I met through her husband, Stuart who was my Physical Therapist helping me with my back injury. Throughout the pandemic we meditated together virtually 3 mornings a week and we both felt a supportive community was what got us through the trying times of isolation and despair. More than a year later, as we are slowly coming out of the pandemic, we’ve decided to co-host a retreat to celebrate human resilience, friendship and the all beautiful things in life!

ACCOMMODATION
You will be staying at The Highline Tulum, a small condo building nestled in the jungle of Aldea Zama, where nature meets comfort and luxury.
You will be staying in a private unit, based on single or double occupancy, with your own bathroom, kitchen and terrace. In addition, you will have access to a 2 private rooftops and a common rooftop with an infinity pool.
Each unit has a king bed, marble flooring, floor-to-ceiling screened windows, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, TV and high-speed internet.
FOOD
You will start the day with a healthy and delicious breakfast that fuels you with the energy you need for your daily activities.
Depending on the itinerary and excursion schedule, we will explore the vibrant culinary scene in Tulum by hiring top-notch personal chefs to cater our meals on site, as well as venturing out to local taco stands and enjoying gourmet sunset dinners on the beach.
Purified water, coffees and teas are always on the house.
Extra snacks and food can also be purchased from local grocery stores within an easy walking distance from the Highline.
YOGA & MOVEMENT
You will have 1-2 yoga and meditation classes everyday so you can truly immerse in your physical and spiritual practice.
Practice will take place either on site or at some other beautiful locations subject to availability.
Depending on the number and levels of experience of our attendees, we may offer 2 classes simultaneously to better serve the needs of each individual and allow maximum personal attention.
In addition to regular group classes, we are also available to work with you one-on-one to help you deepen your practice.
ACTIVITIES
Situated between Cancun and Sian Ka'an, the UNESCO World Heritage site, Tulum is the perfect spot on the Yucatan Peninsular in Mexico to explore everything from the world's most pristine beaches to its crystal-colored cenotes, from famous archaeological sites such as Chichen Itza and Ek Balam to nature adventures.
We are planning a special group excursion that will showcase the best of Tulum! This is usually one of the highlights of the week and a memorable experience we all look back and cherish!
Other optional excursions such as snorkeling, trips to the beach, visiting cenotes and archaeological sites will be organized throughout the week. You are welcome to join as many activities as you like or relax by the pool, take a bike ride or go shopping in town.

Double Occupancy Rate: US$ 2450
Single Occupancy Rate: US$ 2750
For Double Occupancy, your unit will be a spacious 1 Bedroom with a king bed, living room, private bathroom, kitchen and 2 terraces.
For Single Occupancy, your unit will be a studio with a king bed, private bathroom, kitchenette and terrace.
All units have separate and private entrances.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Planning a retreat during such extremely uncertain times is challenging but we are determined to offer our guests a chance to re-connect in a beautiful setting after more than a year of isolation and zoom yoga! Since our retreat is limited to a small number of attendees to allow for a safe and intimate experience, please understand our cancellation policy is in place to help us share expenses that may arise from unexpected circumstances.
When you sign up, you may pay in full or put a 50% deposit down to secure your spot. Full payment is due on Oct 5, 2021.
Please note that all payments including your deposits are non-refundable..
If you cancel for any reason such as injury, sickness, being tested positive for Covid, family emergency or any other personal reasons, we cannot refund your deposit or any amount you paid. If you arrive late or need to leave the retreat early, you will not receive any refund on the remaining time of your scheduled stay.
If we cancel due to weather, border/airport closures, political upheaval or any natural disasters, we also cannot refund your deposit or any amount you paid.
The best way to protect yourself from any unforeseen circumstances is to purchase travel/cancellation/interruption insurance. Here are a few companies you could check out: Allianz, Travelguard and World Nomads. Depending on the policy and conditions, travel/trip cancellation insurance will pay for some or all cancellation fees, medical expenses and the cost of repatriation should you become ill or injured. With most agencies, insurance must be purchased within 14 days of making your reservation.
